This was not a large avalanche, but could have hurt someone. It’s interesting to see such a slide in Colorado, where our snowpack is usually so crummy that any avalanche steps down to the ground and moves massive amounts of snow.

At the invitation of Salewa (parent company of Dynafit), I’m headed over to Europe in about a week to attend the Dynafit hosted annual product launch of ski touring gear.

ot out today with the young ski touring powder posse. We tried to nail 5,000 vertical but the sun went down. Got about 4,000 instead. Darn.

When you go to the Forest Service office to get a tree cut permit, they read you the riot act about not cutting any Blue Spruce (our state tree). Of course it follows that Blue Spruce are nice bushy things that make the best Christmas trees.
