For recent guidebook work I got a new scanner with better dynamic range (more detail in lightest and darkest areas), am having fun re-scanning some of my old prints. This one is the view of Colorado fourteeners South (left) and North Maroon Peaks from Pyramid Peak. The large gully to the left of the South Maroon is a popular ski route. The Bell Cord couloir is the narrow chute to the right of South Summit — it’s where a recent fatal accident occurred. In the enlarged version, you can see fourteener Snowmass Mountain up on the right — a premium destination for late June skiing. For you image aces out there, the scanner is a Canon Canoscan |
