Be there. Support the guy. After the proverbial home remodel stress session he needs a nice mountain vacation.
Seriously, inspiring success such as Andrew McLean has had in the Alaska Range requires years of experience and devotion. To reach that kind of level, you must achieve a special mix of technical savvy, fitness, safety practices so you come back alive, and the willingness to suffer. More, unless you’re independently wealthy, you’ve got to have the business acumen to keep a stable of sponsors happy and coming back to the table. Thus, it’s hard to put into words the immense respect I have for what Andrew has done up there. He gives a good slideshow too, usually with plenty of self deprecating humor that brings things above the usual “brag show.” Highly recommended. Be there.
Andrew will also be in the Denver, Colorado area Oct 13, 14 & 15.
