t’ll be official in a few hours. Black Diamond has been working their tails off on what they intend to be a state of art website that combines high-end edited content, shopping cart, and more. The site was loading a bit slow for me when I last looked, but once it’s chugging along I’m sure it’ll be snappy and no doubt something to behold. Check it out and leave a comment here with your opinion! I’ll keep my trap zipped and see what you guys have to say.

Snirt (snow-dirt) is a bummer for skiers, but at least gives scientists an excuse for interesting studies (and perhaps associated grants). This year’s unusually thick layer of snirt in Colorado’s San Juan mountains is the result of a dozen “dust events,” meaning millions of pounds of dirt are scoured by the wind from the southwestern U.S., then deposited on the first major mountain range in their path.
