Thanks to avy beacons, surviving a ski touring avalanche burial is now more common than it was before such electronics. BUT, perhaps that fact has led to people taking even more risks — with resulting tragedy.

Back here in Kitzbuhel area, turns out they’re having some excellent corn skiing on southerly terrain, of course missed that being up at high altitude. To be expected, as for the past week I’ve always been one or two days…
