While the Denali roadtrip crew was packing up their tanker last Saturday for the drive, Tyler, Colby, and I went out to see what all the down valley rain might be doing up high. We had originally planned to try to ski something off the East or North side of the summit block of Mt Boddington and brought ropes expecting a rappel. But as we skinned to our objective we passed chute after chute of enticing powder and in the end just couldn’t pass it up. It was some of the best skiing we’d had all season, and was in the middle of May to boot. The next day we went mountain biking in shorts and 70 degree sunshine. Loving life!
