Freeskiing roots with ski mountaineering ambitions!
Here on Totally Deep, we get a little fixated with projects. When it comes to skiing the Colorado Fourteeners, we’ve had five separate guests on from the first to ski it, Lou Dawson, to the fastest, Josh Jesperson. Lately we seem to have switched gears and become hyper focused on the 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America. Penn Newhard and Chris Davenport, both authors of the book, have been on before as well as Noah Howell, who’s been making a good dent in the list. Our latest guest Cody Townsend has a shot at being the first skier to take them all down.
When I started talking to Cody about doing the interview, he was stoked but said there would be very little notice about when he would be swinging through the Roaring Fork Valley. Alas, I was skiing in Wyoming and really bummed to miss this interview when he did come through. Luckily Randy took it on solo. Cody’s trip was more than successful and he is well on his way through some of the hardest lines in the book.
