After testing Havoc skis yesterday (see previous blog post), slapped on the climbing skins and did some headlamp lit conifer harvesting. I love getting our Christmas tree from the forest, it’s not only a family tradition, but helps the trees by thinning (they’re almost always too dense) and saves some money to boot! Photo below is our attempt to compete with the “lifestyle” shots in the current Cloudveil catalog (an excellent dream book, by the way). They probably won’t be publishing logging photos any time soon (though a few catalog shots do depict the use of firewood), so why not some chainsaw action here at WildSnow.com? Click photo for enlargement that details the machinery of the mountain lifestyle. Yeah, chainsaws and stuff like that — it’s a guy thing?
