Had a nice day of ski touring yesterday, on our Colorado “endless winter” snowpack. Actually made a few classic pow turns. Sad this morning getting the news of speed climber Ueli Steck’s death in the Himalaya. We we’re inspired by the man, and he did do his share of ski touring. More here.
Our ski shop partner Cripple Creek Backcountry gave their annual “closing” party yesterday. Excellent BBQ and our spirited local ski touring crowd. “Closing” in quotes because they’ll probably be open a few days a week throughout summer, and of course can help locals out by appointment. Cripple Creek Backcountry website always open as well.
