By sticking with a strong mission statement that emphasizes values such as balance, humility and respect, 5 Point film festival screened a mix of films that with a few small exceptions went beyond the plotless hucking flick we get bombarded with from nearly every corner.

Matchstick Productions Seven Sunny Days ski movie review

I’m glad the two rescued climbers are okay, but have to ask the question: Someone can get scared on a wilderness mountainside and call a helicopter via 911, but we can’t watch Davenport’s fourteener movie because it violates some wilderness regulations?
-
But even the darkest cloud has the potential to produce beautiful powder. Thus, sooner or later I suspect we’ll see a movie about Davenport’s fourteener project. I’m sure it will be enjoyable, even award winning — and perhaps better than the original cut by focusing even more on the personal, spiritual and wilderness aspects of Colorado ski alpinism.
