Ah yes, the Ultimate Quiver Project continues to progress. This week, latest build of Black Diamond Justice has our wall space and attention — and are headed to the workbench to be drilled. These wide and beefy planks are legal contenders for the pow prize. Torsionally stiff yet supple in curve, I’ll bet they’ll rail in the soft stuff and are not too scary otherwise (though yes, they’re billed as a powder board.)
Big thing is they’re lighter. Less mass than previous model, super weight/surface ratio, and easily holding their own on our weight chart with other skis in this class. In numbers, we’re talking 63.3 ounces (1794 grams) per ski in our 175 length. That’s of course significantly more freight than many of the skinnier touring skis out there, but still in the range of something a normal human can haul uphill. If the ride is worth it, so be it.
Word from our testers last year is the wood core and additional carbon has made this ski much more desirable. We’ll find that out for sure. Soon. Ultimate Quiver !!
