Getting from Carbondale to SLC was the 9 hour drive through Hades. Big storm, I-70 closed for a while, Soldier Summit a war zone. I knew I was in for it when after I-70 opened (closed an hour), I’m tooling along and whipped past a state snowplow that had gone off the road into the ditch. Oh, and before that a semi in front of me in Glenwood took out a lamp post and scattered parts over the road like a burst backpack. I jumped out of our little Euro car (practicing for Europe), kicked the bigger parts out of the way, and as the semi driver gestured me to stop and the cops pulled up, I blasted out of there, a man on a mission (I didn’t see anything, promise.)
And that was all after a two hour epic getting snowmobiled out of a remote cabin in the West Elks.
At any rate, mission now is to get to Chicago for the connect to Munich. Sounds like that might be iffy as well.
