Totally Deep Podcast 92 — Supply Chain Headaches and Quiver Dreams

by The Editors Of Wildsnow October 1, 2021
written by The Editors Of Wildsnow October 1, 2021

Quiver dreams begin in this episode of Totally Deep.

Here it goes one more time; the only thing for certain right now is uncertainty. At least for the foreseeable future, you might have difficulty finding the exact ski gear you covet. Doug and Randy muse about the supply chain snafus affecting the manufacturing and delivery of ski goods in this episode of the Totally Deep Podcast.

Although this episode is primarily about selecting a ski quiver (and some bindings), ths hosts banter about the supply and demand crux. If you are looking for something special, it’s likely hard to come by. Welcome to our global supply chain meltdown. Doug and Randy have some advice regarding securing gear for the season due to a limited supply of some backcountry-specific ski items.

All this sets the context for the ski quiver run down.

Doug and Randy remain beer glass half full, discussing the prospects for a big-snow winter and a season stretching into deep spring as they pick their top-four skis each to fill out the quiver. From skinny to semi-wide and beyond, it’s ski quiver dream time.

The dream quiver, according to Doug and Randy, ensues again. Will it be a 95mm underfoot selected as the go-to, or maybe that new baby-blue (ice-bleu) 80mm from Cham? Listen on. If it’s the gear you want to get into, that begins in earnest at 16:00 minutes.

And if you are keen on learning more about what Randy is talking about when he says this: “where they introduce all of their skis in some weird futuristic vacuum,” then check out this video.
